Meet our Teachers

Hello I'm Elliott, an award-winning swimming teacher and owner of Swim Stars South East / Founder of Heathfield Swim School.  

I qualified as a swimming teacher at the age of 16 and have been teaching ever since. I gained extensive experience over the years working across swim schools in Kent and Sussex, as well as coaching at international summer camps in the USA and Canada. I am particularly passionate about working with swimmers with SEND and additional educational needs, teaching children and adults of all ages and abilities in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. 

I competed in both swimming and lifesaving at local levels and national / world-level events with Beacon Swimming and Lifesaving Club. The schools that I work closely with and provisions I have put in place have been recognised by national governing bodies including RLSS and Swim England, reflecting my commitment to high-quality, inclusive swimming education. 

I am really passionate about swimming and making sure every child has the opportunity to learn this life skill in a safe fun and friendly way.

Hi I’m Mel, busy mum of 2. I’ve been working at Heathfield Swim School and Swim Stars South East for a couple of years and absolutely love teaching and helping children to learn and grow in the pool. It gives me great pleasure to watch the children achieve new goals.

I’m very passionate about the swim school and love to help out where I can. I am excited to be part of the bigger picture and get more stuck into the swim school. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and my very energetic pup.

Hi I’m Verity, I’ve been a swimmer all my life, competing to masters level as an adult and think swimming is a wonderful way to exercise and have fun. It is also a skill that can save lives and I’m passionate about helping children and adults find their confidence in the water.

I have been involved with Elliott and Heathfield Swim School for many years. As a parent at Cross In Hand primary school, with 3 children I volunteered my time to help support the amazing splash committee at the site - making swimming more accessible to all the children in the local area.

It is particularly special that I now get to work with the incredible team at Heathfield Swim School and Swim Stars South East to help secure the future of not only this fantastic resource but others in the local area and also have the pleasure and joy of teaching your children to swim in a safe, fun and friendly way.

Hi I’m Alexa, mum of 2 young children. I’ve recently joined Swim Stars South East as a Baby and Pre-school teacher and can’t wait to work with the amazing team.

I believe that swimming is a fundamental life skill. Introducing babies and toddlers to swimming brings so much joy, confidence and respect for the water at a young age. Watching a child’s face light up with pride as they master a new skill makes these lessons so rewarding.

Our lessons are fun, relaxed and based around play, we recognise that all children are different and learn at their own pace. We encourage children to explore the water through games and songs progressing through the Swim England baby and pre-school programme as we go.

Hi my name is Flo, I’ve grown up in a super active, outdoorsy family, so being on the move has always been part of my life especially in the water!

Swimming has been a lifelong passion of mine, and when I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me open-water swimming, cycling through the countryside, hiking, or keeping active at the gym.

I absolutely love working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, helping children build confidence, learn new skills, and discover how much fun being in the water can be.

My goal is always to create a positive, supportive, and fun environment where every child feels safe, proud, and excited to swim.

Hello! My name is Seb, and I’m a 16 year old athlete with a passion for all things sport - especially swimming!

Having spent a decade training at Beacon Swimming Club and competing at a high level, I know exactly what it takes to turn a "splash" into a perfect stroke.

I’ve been a proud member of the Swim Stars South East team for over a year now, where I have worked closely with Elliott to focus on making lessons both safe, fun and exciting for your children.

When I’m not at the pool, I’m staying active with rugby and golf. My goal is to share everything I’ve learned about speed, technique, and water safety with the next generation!
